How do I make plastic look like damaged, rusted metal? - plastic look freeones

I'm trying to research a way to plastic-old rusted and damaged can manufacture. It turns more of a chore, so I thought it would. I'm just a perfectionist, so I almost any amount of time and benefit spending in order to convincingly out as possible, but it is cheaper to keep getting better! Can give Thanks for the help.

It depends on the size of your project ...

During the construction of models and "time" (tanks and vehicles) use Testor Model Master Paint ... with the "rust". I paint a base color, then dry brush on rust after dry shade and more apparent. I also sprinkled baby powder over the wet paint to add a layer of "texture".

For large projects (props) I use latex paint smeared with flour and add something on the wet paint to "texture".

"Crackled" painting. You can find it in most hobby stores.
